Ada’s October 15 update allows receipt, invoice and order-confirmation images that show only a card brand or its last four digits. Payment-card images, including masked cards displayed on a screen, and images containing a full card number remain withheld.

What changes for users
Use synthetic examples to check a last-four receipt, a masked card screenshot and a document with a full card number. Inspect the resulting transcript as well as the response. Set retention and redaction expectations around the surviving description: deleting the uploaded image does not mean its extracted information disappears from the conversation.

Previously, Ada says its payment-card rule also withheld these receipts. The change distinguishes the purchase document from the card itself. It does not turn an image of a masked payment card into an accepted receipt.

Ada’s Images guide says a vision model creates a text description for the AI Agent. Redaction rules operate on that description and do not alter the original image. Image files are deleted after seven days, while their descriptions remain in the conversation transcript.

AI-assisted source check
How this was checked
AI-assisted checks read the dated receipt announcement, Images guide and Redaction settings guide. All are Ada sources. This is a change to image classification, distinct from the earlier Messaging SDK image-upload default change.
Editorial assessmentChecked: [release][images][redactions]
No receipt images, classification results or redaction rules were tested. Ada describes sensitive-image detection as best-effort. The announcement supports a changed reading boundary, not a measured accuracy improvement or verification that a purchase or refund is legitimate.
